About us

Original Berlin Walks, the parent company of Original Leipzig Walks, was founded in 1993 by historians Nick and Serena Gay, who began offering guided tours of historical “Third Reich” sites in Berlin shortly after the city’s reunification. What started as a passion project for this husband-and-wife team has grown into one of Europe’s leading walking tour companies, known for its academic depth, engaging storytelling, and high-quality visitor experience.

Today, under the leadership of CEO Lars Beineke, Original City Walks operates multiple daily tours in Berlin, welcoming more than 100,000 guests each year. While Berlin remains at the heart of what we do, we have expanded our expertise to offer outstanding guided tours in Munich, Hamburg, Leipzig, Potsdam, and Szczecin — bringing the same passion, professionalism, and historical insight to each destination.
